Last Friday, 17 October, You Improve celebrated five of our managers for completing the ‘Operational Excellence’ training program. Peter Drykoningen, Niki Oeyen, Robbie Gelders, Sharon Roovers and Andy Philips took part in an intensive course over the past few months, with the goal of creating more impact on the work floor. “I can already see that we are reaping the benefits of this collaboration,” emphasized Head of Operations Robby Stas.

You Improve guides organizations in autonomous and continuous improvement with measurable impact on key performance areas. “Belgian Cycling Factory already had a very strong foundation, and many good things were already happening,” explained coach Thierry van Ottele. “Still, I felt that in some areas, the right tools were missing. During our program, participants learned to identify and map out inefficiencies. This now enables them to turn these insights into concrete improvements.”

According to Van Ottele, the training ensures that participants will have an even greater impact in their daily work: “They will build stronger teams and inspire others around them. The team will look at its environment in the same way and will have the right standards in place to achieve good results. I already see how our people are taking initiative more quickly and coming up with their own ideas. It’s great to see that, even in busy times, they are applying the lessons learned. This definitely leaves us wanting more.”

Flying start

Head of Operations Stas welcomes the results: “This program has truly given us a flying start. Significant progress was made in a short period of time, and it has proven to be an enrichment for both our people and the company. We hope that our managers can pass on their learnings and impact to other team members, so everyone benefits from this program.”

CEO Jochim Aerts also expressed his gratitude to You Improve for the collaboration: “I make it a point to walk through the factory every day. Since January, I’ve noticed visible improvements everywhere. As our brands continue on the path of internationalization, it’s rewarding to see that we are also making progress inside the factory.”

The five participants received a certificate, a You Improve water bottle, and a small celebratory gift upon completion of the training. As a token of appreciation, we presented coach Thierry van Ottele with a personalized fork. We look forward to continuing this fruitful collaboration in the future.
